  • The Executive Leadership Network
    Recognizing that new knowledge, skills, proficiencies and attitudes of nonprofit executives with regard to their own leadership competencies , goals and plans, will become the most influential factors in achieving nonprofit organizational effectiveness, efficiency and, ultimately, social return on community investment, we have developed a continuum of sustainable resources addressing several levels of need.   • Public Training Institute
    Our Public Training Program serves as THE professional development arm of hundreds of nonprofit organizations in our San Diego region. Thousands of nonprofit practitioners, board members and other stakeholders enroll in NMS courses every year. Over 300 nonprofit-specific courses are offered annually and are taught by knowledgeable individuals with special experience and expertise in the nonprofit world. Click here for more information.

 

  • Consulting and On-Site Training Solutions
    Working from an organization’s traditions, culture and strengths, we help shape management and leadership solutions that support missions and expand internal capacity. Each year, we help more than 150 clients in this division, from community-based "start-ups" to large established nonprofits, foundations and government agencies achieve their missions by helping them to develop: a mission-centered organization, diversified and sustainable funding, a dynamic and realistic strategic plan, an engaged and effective Board of Directors, financial systems that assure accountability, and motivated and productive staff.   • Social Enterprise Initiative
    In partnership with the Social Enterprise Institute, NMS is developing leadership circles of nonprofit executives interested in pursing social enterprise strategies. A learning track of 8-10 new courses utilizing a nonprofit-specific social enterprise curriculum is under development, along with recruitment and training for business coaches and mentors to help develop nonprofit capacity among program participants in this moving toward sustainable strategic with earned income and other key elements of social enterprise.   • Technology Assistance Services (InfoTAP)
    Hands-on consulting, coaching, and troubleshooting are provided by a professional technology staff to help nonprofits leverage the power of technology to improve productivity and impact of their programs and services. Our full-service technology division offers network assessment, planning, installation and maintenance; website design, development and maintenance; database design, implementation and maintenance; on-site software training; desktop computer installation and repair; troubleshooting and on-going maintenance and tech support. We help our nonprofit colleagues find affordable and appropriate technology solutions that will empower and add capacity to their organizations. Click here for more information.

 

  • Board Connection
    A partnership between Nonprofit Management Solutions and Volunteer San Diego, BC designed to strengthen nonprofit organizations by developing the effectiveness of their Boards of Directors. Program features include: Board development training to help organizations carry out their missions; Recruitment and training of individuals interested in nonprofit board service; A database to help link individuals and organizations with matching strengths and needs; and, Ongoing skill development and training opportunities for individuals and organizations.   • Resource Library
    A walk-in facility for NMS members, clients and others in the nonprofit community, the resource library received designation as a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center in 2006. The library currently offers FC-ONLINE, providing opportunity for funding research on multiple work stations, and includes a comprehensive collection of books, pamphlets, files and bound materials, journals and periodicals plus online resources covering all areas of nonprofit management, board governance and technology issues.   • Executive Service Corps Division
    This division utilizes the talents, experience and expertise of retired and semi-retired executives from business, government and the nonprofit sector to serve the community. These volunteers work with our clients and on our contracts as mentors, business coaches, advisors and consultants. Click here for more information.
