She joined NMS as the Director of Training and Organizational Development in 2008 after nearly fifteen years as an NMS senior affiliated consultant. She has worked with a diverse cross-section of San Diego’s nonprofit sector in her twenty-five years of experience, including several years as Communications Director for Planned Parenthood of San Diego and Riverside Counties.  A native San Diegan, Lenore holds a Masters of Education from the University of San Diego and is an alumna of LEAD San Diego.

STEPHANIE MCCULLERS joined NMS in July of 1998 as Clerk / Receptionist and was made Administrative Services Coordinator in January 2001. Her duties include oversight of all administrative office systems and office financial activities. Before joining NMS, she held several positions at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, including engineering aide and administrative assistant, and more recently office management positions with Vitality Training Center and California Naturopathic College.

MELISSA ESTEN joined NMS in the summer of 2010.  Her duties include coordinating training workshops and working with volunteers.  She has extensive experience working with volunteer leaders in ministerial and educational settings.  Most notably, she spearheaded a parent partnership program to increase parent involvement at Pershing Middle School.  Melissa also co-founded Parent Voices for Education (PVSD), a district-wide independent partnership of racial and ethnically diverse parents working together to ensure that education policies support children from all backgrounds.  For this effort, Melissa and her co-founder received the 10 NEWS Leadership Award.

KATHLEEN MACHES joined NMS in 2011 as our program assistant. For the past several years, she has worked as a newsletter editor and online content writer/webmaster. Kathleen has been an active volunteer in her community for over twenty years, including a two-year term as the parent volunteer coordinator for her local middle school.
