In this Learning Group, Development Professionals will receive coaching from experts and input from peers. The four, 3-hour sessions provide hands-on training for fundraising professionals in nonprofit organizations to improve their skills. Participants will also create and/or refine their Development plan and learn the keys to its implementation.

Instructor(s)

JULIE RICE is a principal in Development by Design, specializing in strategic plan creation and implementation, materials evaluation and development, grant writing and community partnerships and outreach. She has strong track record of identifying and building relationships with corporate partners who have been carefully researched and matched with non-profit partners; similarly, she has been highly successful in winning federal and private grant dollars because of careful, detailed targeting and thorough proposal development practices.

TONYA TOROSIAN, is a Certified Fundraising Executive and received her Master of Arts in Social Work from Arizona State University with an emphasis in Planning, Administration and Community Practice. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin. In addition to being a principal in Development by Design, Ms. Torosian currently serves as the Executive Director of the County of San Diego’s Commission on Children, Youth and Families, which serves as a policy advisor to the Board of Supervisors.
