What to Put in Your Letter of Interest
The intention of this Academy is to create a forum for nonprofit “social enterprisers” to try out and/or promote their earned income venture to potential public and private investors. The Academy’s mentors and judges will be seasoned entrepreneurs, business executives and business students committed to applying their expertise to social purpose businesses.
This program builds on a similar program which was offered by The Social Enterprise Institute in Orange County last spring. The winner of that program is on track to receive $300,000-500,000 in Phase I funding from private investors next month!
If you would like to participate, please send a short letter (1-2 pages) describing your earned income venture. Please be sure to include the product or service you are offering and why it is unique, the significance of your social impact and an overview of the markets you intend to serve.
Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of who would be most likely to succeed with the help of our support team. Those selected will be coached in growing their business, how to develop a business plan, and in preparing a power point “pitch” suitable for private or public investors.
