Instructor:
SARAH ADAMS was the Program Director at Volunteer San Diego from 2005 until its recent closing at the end of September. She has coordinated corporate and nonprofit volunteer management services, flexible volunteering opportunities, teambuilding volunteer projects, service events, volunteer management training, disaster volunteers, AmeriCorps programming, and the technology applications that support volunteerism. Prior to working at Volunteer San Diego, Sarah worked for 3½ years as a volunteer coordinator at an environmental nonprofit, where she established a formal volunteer program from the ground up. She developed and managed both ongoing opportunities and special events including countywide clean-up projects, which involved an extensive network of community groups and nonprofits. She currently serves as the Chapter Chair of the Surfrider Foundation, San Diego County Chapter. Surfrider is a grassroots, environmental nonprofit, with the work at local chapters driven by volunteers. She is also an active member of the San Diego County Volunteer Administrators Network, sitting on their Leadership Council.
